Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has temporarily stopped taking new applications for parents and grandparents sponsorship. Families can not file any new forms to bring elderly relatives to Canada. The government provided no update on when or the suspension will end. Recent updates to immigration rules came just before the shutdown. This week data on work permit delays emerged. However, no plan to address the current delays was shared.
