Chinese AI start-up Moonshot AI has released Kimi K3, a open-source model with 2.8 trillion parameters. The model achieves 57 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, closing the gap with leading models while approaching levels seen in GPT-5.6 Sol and Fable 5. Open weights will be for release on July 27, marking a shift from budget Chinese AI offerings to higher-performance alternatives.
