Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli arrived back on home soil on Wednesday. They finished tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. At the same time, thousands of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa went back to their Japan post after missions linked with the Iran situation. The Tripoli docked at its home port in Okinawa, wrapping up its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force completed joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit recovered a seven-day-old seal pup that was left on its own.
