From June 23 to July 9, 2008, SBI cooperated with the Paraffin Fire Safety Association of Southern Africa in a major Project throughout the country of South Africa.  SBI sent Dr. Saliba and cameraman Zen from San Diego, USA and Dra Maria da Graca Costa from Porto Alegre, Brazil. The group was joined by Dra Maria Giaquinto, then-director of the Kimberley Burn Center and Paraffin Safety Project Manager Mr. Dehran Swart from Capetown. Presentations, demonstrations and consultations with staff were made at burn units in Cape Town, Tygerburg, Kimberley, Johannesburg, Prietemartzburg, Durban, and Port Elizabeth.
